One of Mackays best kept secrets, the Orchid House in Queen's Park is a beautiful and peaceful haven away from the city noise.
Established in 1886 these wonderful gardens feature an oasis of tropical trees and the Orchid House itself boasts nearly 1000 species of orchid, some of which are over 70 years old.
The orchid collection in Queen's Park is one of the finest collections of its kind in Australia. The building itself was named after the long-serving park curator Ken Burgess, and is the most significant attraction in the park.
