Lindeman Island is one of the most southern islands in the Whitsunday’s and the Great Barrier Reef. It is mostly a national park with over 20 kilometres of bushwalking tracks.
Lindeman Island has seven pristine beaches, the most popular of which is Gap Beach. Gap is an extraordinary setting for snorkelling and oystering. Golden orchids are seen in the mangroves at the end of the beach and over 90 species of birds are abundant, great for bird watching.
Dolphins can often be viewed from the beach and Mt Oldfield peak throughout the whole year. Also during whale-watching season from July to November, Humpback whales can frequently be seen.
Lindeman Island is the home of Australia's first Club Med Resort. If bushwalking and snorkelling are not your ideal activity, here are plenty of activities on offer for you to do as little as much as you'd like on your holiday. There is also a camping ground at Boat Port on the northern face of the island.
