Biggera Waters 

Biggera Waters is the site for one of the Gold Coasts’ most major shopping precincts around the Harbourtown Outlet Shopping Centre. This suburb is located just south of Runaway Bay and only 10km from Surfers Paradise. Biggera Waters is accessible to suburbs such as Helensvale, Runaway Bay and Southport.

This residential area derives its name from the Yugambeh word of "bigera" for "red ironbark". This is descriptive of the native flora and the landscape of this northern suburb. Although, alike to many of the other residential suburbs on the Gold Coast, many homes are on fronting onto canals. Residents take advantage of the pristine waterways with boating, fishing and water sport activities. By car or boat, it is easy to head east to the Southport Broadwater and immerse yourself in the great sites and sounds of the northern Gold Coast.

Or, while in this region, visit Coombabah Lake Conservation Park. Along with The Ivan Gibbs Wetlands Reserve, the conservation park provides walkways and bike trails provide a glimpse of the untouched surrounds of Biggera Waters and an escape from the busy roads.
