Located close to Canungra and even closer to Mt Tambourine, Guanaba and its surrounds thrived in the mid to late 1800's as one of the largest timber stands in Australia. After the logging stopped, the region became a premium region of land for beef cattle and dairy. Presently it is a natural tourism location due to the beauty of the rain forest and hinterland country.
This historic township is still known as a fertile and productive environment with a plethora of fantastic country style eateries, wineries, accommodation and shops. Guanaba is also renowned as the area with training facilities for prize-winning racers and polo steeds the world over.
