Miami 

Miami is a popular tourist destination with many high and low rise beachfront self contained apartment accommodation and budget motels.

It has a magnificent beach and a Surf Lifesaving Club with children's playgrounds along the Esplanade. Miami has a pharmacy, corner store, factory outlet shops and petrol stations. Miami is home to Pizzy Park, which houses a swimming complex home of many of Australia's great swimmers and a outdoor skate park. There are also free barbecues along narrow parkland along the beach.

There is a growers market held each Sunday morning on the Miami High School playing fields located on the beachside of the Gold Coast Highway.

Once the land of Kombumerri people who fished for shell fish and hunted birds and game in coastal swamp lands, the Miami area was described by the first surveyors in the 1860s. Now it is a developed redidential area with a school and activities geared for the whole family.
