About 130 million years ago, violent volcanic eruptions formed rocky outcrops along the Capricorn Coast. This park protects windswept low heath scattered with pandanus and she-oaks, open eucalypt and wattle forests, tussock grassland, mangroves and rainforest, creating a wildlife refuge.
From the lookout at Bluff Point, watch sea turtles feeding on seagrass. Enjoy a picnic on the shore and take the three and a half kilometre track for fabulous views over islands and hinterland. This is also a great spot for birdwatching. Explore Double Head along a sealed 365 metre walking track. Visit Fan Rock lookout, an attractive fan-shaped cliff formation with hexagonal basalt columns.
See all the park's sections in a short 30 minute drive from Yeppoon or Emu Park.
