Fitzroy Reef is a stunning coral lagoon situated just a 90min jet boat ride from the Town of 1770, around 490km from Brisbane and 130km from Bundaberg.

Fitzroy Reef is also a popular hot spot for the keen fisherman, where you can catch your fish and enjoy boneless reef fillets fresh for dinner.
Covering an area of 3650 ha, and home to more than 2,500 species, Fitzroy Reef Lagoon is one of the most bio-diverse ecosystems in the world.
Scuba diving is available at approx 12 dive sites, each varying in depth and difficulty from the novice to the experienced.
Visitors can experience an informative and fully supervised snorkel trail, which includes exploring the fascinating maze of coral reefs.
Approximately 20 tourism operators run either daily or extended live-aboard trips to the Fitzroy Reef.

Fitzroy Reef, the largest in the Bunker Group, is a 3650ha drying, closed ring reef with a deep (6-10m) lagoon that can be entered through 2 narrow, natural channels. While no cay is present, an intermittent sand body often appears at low tide on the south-western end of the reef.
A wreck is visible on the reef flat on the southwest corner of the reef, and is thought to be that of the steamer S.S. Pacific (1903). The wreckage consists of some wooden remains, rusted spars and boilers.
