A quiet, picturesque suburb with a semi rural atmosphere located 13km west of the city on the northern bank of the Brisbane River. Fig Tree Pocket's main attraction is its local parks.

Fig Tree Pocket was named after a large fig tree that grew in the area, said to be so large that it could shelter a herd of cattle.

Fig Tree Pocket Riverside Reserve, one of Fig Tree Pocket's best kept secrets, is located on Fig Tree Pocket Road. Situated on the banks of the Brisbane River the Reserve is ideal for barbecues, fishing, boating and water skiing.
