The township of Timber Creek sits on the Victoria highway, halfway between Katherine and Kununurra.
When travelling from either direction you will be inspired by the timeless, rugged landscape of the Victoria River region. This region is one of the last places you can visit in the Territory, which is almost untouched, offering the visitor a truly remote outback experience.
Weaving its way through the region is the Victoria River, one of the longest rivers in the Northern Territory. Spectacular red rimmed escarpments, tropical and semi-arid vegetation, Aboriginal culture and a fascinating European history are just a few reasons to stop and stay a few days in the area.
This region is home to two National Parks, Gregory National Park and Keep River National Park, featuring four wheel drive tracks and a diverse range of flora and fauna. This region sustains as a thriving pastoral industry and is home to Victoria River Downs cattle station, otherwise know as the 'The Big Run'.
