Established in 1947 as a trading post and rations depot, Maningrida is a relatively small community located around 300km northeast of Jabiru.
With a population of roughly 2,700 people, the town is popular for fishing trips and those interested in the town's unique local arts and crafts.
It should be noted that because Maningrida is located in the Arnhem Land Aboriginal Land Trust, all visitors to Maningrida Community require a Permit to visit Aboriginal Lands.
Permit Applications are available from the Northern Land Council's Jabiru Office.
