Gove Sailing Club on the shores of Melville Bay is a notoriously hearty watering hole for a vibrant local sailing fraternity and visiting guests from all over the world. The club organises regular island regattas and annual events like the popular 'Across the Top' race to Darwin to coincide with the start of the Darwin to Ambon yacht race, and a challenging Gove to Sumlaki event.

Friendly Gove Harbour has become a favourite stop off point for scores of interstate and international 'yachties' cruising the Top End coast to Darwin, the Kimberley, the Arafura islands and exotic places beyond.
