Stewart was great. I arrived on a 2:00 a.m. flight from Melbourne on 15 March 2008; the cab driver couldn't find the motel, but a mobile phone call to Stewart guided me.
This is one of the closest motels to Darwin airport (if not the closest), but don't expect a cheap taxi fare (look at a map).
Once at the motel, Stewart paddled out in his PJs, unlocked the door, showed my to my room, switched on the aircon (you REALLY need that in Darwin!) and showed me where I could have a cigarette outside and watch the amazing tropical lightning storms.
The room was small (hey, $75!) but the bed was OK for this 6' 4" guy. Room, shower and toilet were all ultra clean. Towels, tea and coffee stuff, all that, had been prepared with a great deal of trouble. Radio and TV worked. Swimming pool on-site, but didn't have time to sample it.
Would stay again. The Darwin hospitality that you read about really is true ...
