Located just a short distance from Alice Springs, the beautiful Standley Chasm is a popular tourist destination for those with limited time. The walls of the chasm are so high that there is only sunlight for a few minutes around noon each day.
Standley Chasm's vertical red walls glow in the midday sun gives the impression of some sort of giant fracture in the rock. It contains permanent springs and unusual plant life and is a pleasant excursion on its own.
