A town rich in mining, wine-making and timber milling history. It is still a prosperous district cultivating wool, cereals and stock. Corowa also has the distinction of being called 'the cradle or birthplace of federation', as it was here at the local Courthouse that the 1893 Federation Conference took place and the decision was made to draw up a constitution for the new nation.
