The suburbs of Brighton-Le-Sands, Monterey, San Souci and Sandringham lie along a long stretch of beach on the banks of the Botany Bay. Located slightly to their west are the railway suburbs of Rockdale and Kogarah.
Brighton-Le-Sands is on the western shore of Botany Bay just south Sydney's international airport. The main access road, General Holmes Drive, passes under the runway and become The Grand Parade. It then runs along the beach past Brighton-Le-Sands and Monterey to Dolls Point.
There are three swimming baths on the very long stretch of sand. Brighton has a 4.5 star hotel in the Novotel Brighton Beach. A handful of restaurants lie along the foreshore of Botany Bay a fine dining experience right on the water.
Botany Bay is shallow and quickly gets rough in windy conditions, so the beach is good only in good weather.
