A modern museum on a historic site, the Museum of Sydney takes you on a journey exploring Sydney's people, places and cultures, then and now.
It is a place of many layers: from the archaeological remains of the colony's first Government House built 1788 to the award-winning sculpture 'Edge of the Trees', intrepreting the site of first contact between Aborigines and those arriving on the First Fleet. Exhibits explore the evolution of Sydney over two centuries.
A dynamic changing exhibition and events program supplements the permanent exhibits. The MOS Shop specialises in books on Australian architecture, history and culture and Sydney souvenirs.
Guided tours are available on request. For groups, please contact the property to book a tour.
