Only 40km from Picton is Yerranderie ghost town. In the lower Blue Mountains, Yerranderie is surrounded by the wilderness of the Wollondilly Shire. It is a nature lover’s and bushwalkers Mecca. Take an adventure tour – fly from Camden over scenic Lake Burragorang, which isolates Yerranderie. Drive in via Oberon in a normal car. 4WD through the national park via Wombeyan Caves one way and Jenolan Caves the other. Fossick on the mines, visit the museum, and stay in a comfortable lodge, a miners cottage or camp among the kangaroo’s. The village is unique and the whole family will love it.
