Wooli is located 685km north of Sydney and is most famous for its brilliant fishing. 12km south of Grafton, take the turnoff from the Pacific Hwy and travel to Lake Hiawatha where the road branches into two, north goes to Minnie waters, south to Wooli.
The town is situated near the mouth of the Wooli River, but is so close to the coast, with the Solitary Island Marine Reserve to the east, it is considered a beach resort town.
Wooli is surrounded by the spectacular Yuraygir National Park, which offers wild bushland, ocean beaches, rugged headlands and river scenery.
Oysters and tourism play their parts in the town’s economy. The waters are undisturbed by any intensive industry and the tourism development has been low key. Visitors to Wooli can relax in this beautiful region where bushland meets the sea.
