I stayed at Friday On The Beach on a Friday and Saturday night. The room was cool, spacious and clean. However, the rooms are located on a shared veranda (so you have no private balcony) which all the other guest have to walk around in order to reach their rooms. This also means that they walk right past the window of your room - so if were planning to sit in bed and watch the waves (most of which are obscured by trees), consider the fact that all the other guests will be able to watch you watching the waves too. The most disappointing aspect of this Motel though, is the lack of sound proofing of the rooms. Not only could I hear the people in the rooms on either side of me, but I awoke at 2.30am when they all trooped home from their nights out and 8.30am when the younger residents started chatting on their phones on the communal veranda. On the whole, this is not bad for a family stay, but definitely not for adults who want to get away from it all and definitely not worth the $300 a night I paid.

We’re sorry to hear you had a disappointing stay with us at Friday on the Beach and apologize for any disturbance you may have had.We are a very popular resort motel and from time to time may get a rowdier group than normal, however that is very rare. You mentioned the shared verandah, most of our guests regard this as an asset as it is much larger than most establishments and a great place for afternoon tea or sundowners. We are fortunate to be located right on the beach with spectacular views from the balcony. We have a 9.30pm curfew on the verandah so as not to disturb fellow guests.We do have Ocean Front Suites that are at the very front of the building and not only commands spectacular views but are away from passing traffic. You may wish to stay in one of these the next time you visit us.
