Tomaree National Park is a 2318 hectare park famed for its rocky headlands and fabulous white sandy beaches. This includes Samurai Beach, a beautiful beach surrounded by melaleuca and angophora forest and heath which is alive with wildflowers in spring.
Walk to the top of Tomaree Headland for superb views of Port Stephens and the coast, or take a walk to Fingal Island and explore the grounds of the Point Stephens Lighthouse. The park also provides good rock and beach fishing. Accommodation can be found in nearby Nelson Bay and Shoal Bay, as camping is not permitted in the park.
Tomaree National Park preserves heathland, sand dunes, forest areas, bushland and over 20 kilometres of jagged coastline. The park is a beautiful scenic place perfect for picnicking, bushwalking, swimming and much more.
