Bobs Farm is a largely undeveloped rural locality just fifteen minutes from Nelson Bay. Along with Salt Ash the southern border of Bobs Farm is occupied entirely by Stockton Beach, gateway to the Stockton Sand Dunes.

Bob's Farm is the heart of the Port Stephens wine trail. There are 3 local boutique wineries that encourage cellar door sampling. The wineries have cafes and BBQ facilities in lovely landscaped grounds.

The collection of squatters shacks erected on the beach, Tin City, is located in the Bobs Farm district near the border of Bobs Farm and Salt Ash.

A golf course and a go kart track are also located in the immediate vicinity.
