Nelson Bay (and Shoal Bay neighboring beach town) was the place where my family and I spent school holiday vacations over many years. Keeping 5 kids happy, with ages ranging up to 10 years apart, might seem like a big job but we always found something to do and Mum and Dad had a relaxing holiday.
Now I'm 25 and I've returned a few times with my partner because we appreciate the more adult things in town like food and wine festivals as well as going on an unforgettable dolphin cruise with friends and having the saltwater lap over you as you're in the cool blue.
We love it because you can stay in Nelson Bay for 1 night or 7, at a caravan park or a pretty luxurious hotel, and have fish and chips on the grass in your swimmers or dress up for an expensive meal with the glamorous.
Wherever you're at in life, Nelson Bay will cater for you.
