Lemon Tree Passage is a leafy, tranquil and attractive suburb located at the end of the Tilligerry Peninsula and surrounded by the waters of Port Stephens. The suburb of Mallabula is adjacent and between them serve as a haven for koalas. The locals take great care to minimise any adverse impact on the koala community.
This area makes a good base to stay for those interested in flora, fauna and bushwalking. The native flora reserve in Helen Ave is recommended along with the Mangrove Board Walk and the Lilli Pilli Walk - located at the tip of the peninsula in Koala Park. For those interested in walks expect to see great views over Port Stephens, masses of acacia, flannel flowers, boronia and grass trees, views of Tilligerry Creek across to Fenninghams Island and even an Aboriginal Canoe Tree.
Lemon Tree Passage has an enclosed tidal pool, new boat ramp, boat hire, marina, police station, restaurant, bowling club, motel, parks, a post office, a Community Centre, a library, real estate agents and takeaway food outlets.
