The township of Laurieton is an attractive and peaceful holiday destination, 380 km north of Sydney via the Pacific Highway. Further north along the coast is the major regional settlement of Port Macquarie.
There are seven towns and villlages which form the Camden Haven, laurieton being one and the others are North Haven, Dunbogan, Bonny Hills, Kew, Kendall and Comboyne. Each of these towns and villages lies adjacent to the Camden Haven River.
The local area has three significant mountains called "The Brothers", as named by Captain Cook in 1770 as he sailed up the coast. There is South, Middle and North Brother, being the highest at 490 metres. Laurieton lies at the base of North Brother Mountain and at the mouth of the Camden Haven River. This provides a delightful setting of lagoons and waterways with beautiful views of bushland and the Mid-North Coast.
