The twin-town to Tuncurry, Forster is one of NSW’s most beloved holiday spots. The twins are separated by a waterway famous for its easy fishing. These two towns are basically an urban mass only separated by water and joined by a large concrete bridge. The towns sit on opposite sides of the entrance to Wallis Lake which is 26 km long.
Forster-Tuncurry is a very typical holiday destination with all the natural attractions that make this place unique. There are lots of places to stay, plenty of shops to eat takeaway food and local seafood, great fishing, surfing and swimming areas, a casual atmosphere.
Kids will love the abundance of activities designed especially for them, particularly the show rides that hit town each summer.
Forster's main beach is just a stone's throw from a plethora of accommodation options, or head out of town for more secluded beaches which literally stretch for miles. Forster's waterways are also home to the endangered little tern that breeds on two of the lakes numerous islets.
