Seal Rocks is a small, quiet and isolated village located just south of Forster-Tuncurry. Seal Rocks is the perfect town to escape from the hectic cities and tourism that has swept over most of the coastline. This town is only accessible by an unsealed road that separated the town from the main road. This isolation has meant that the town has not been subject to over development and tourism.
The main claim to fame for this town is the magnificent lighthouse that was built in 1875. This lighthouse is officially known as the "Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse". It has breath taking scenic views of an unspoilt surfing beach and a group of rocks just off shore that give the town its name. The private road to the lighthouse also passes a fantastic waterhole that is best on days with large swell.
Even though the access to this town is undesirable, virtually nothing can stop the bushwalking, diving, and angling enthusiasts from enjoying all that Seal Rocks has to offer. The many grey nurse sharks and underwater caves engraved in Sugerloaf point are major attractions for those diving.
Seal Rocks has perfect proximity to Myall Lakes National Park, Hawks Nest and Pacific Palms, all this and retaining its uncrowded and secluded identity.
