The Wollongong coastline offers 17 sparkling surf beaches that are patrolled by lifesavers from September to April. All beaches are in easy walking distance from shops, hotels and clubs. Why not bring your bicycle and enjoy over 60 kilometres of easy bicycle/walkway as you make your way from Bulli Beach in the north to Lake Illawarra in the south.
Wollongong City Beach is located in the heart of the city this beach offers views to the North of the lighthouse on Flag Staff Point and to the south, the hard working steelmills of BHP.
Wollongong City Beach has a bicycle path, car park, children's pool and a shop to pick up the much-needed refreshments after a day out at the beach.
North Wollongong Beach is ideal for families; North Wollongong Beach has rock pools, wading areas and good surf. There is plenty of grass, shade and picnic booths, a children's playground is close by, shops, cafes and amenities are provided.
North Wollongong Beach is a great place for a BBQ with full facilities provided; it also has a bike and walking track and free parking.
