Nestled at the base of Mt. Keira is the Wollongong Botanic Garden, just 3 kilometres from the city centre, and adjacent to the University of Wollongong. The garden provides 27 hectares of undulating land. Highlights include the sunken rose garden, woodland garden, and plants representing a range of communities. There is a free guided walk on the first Sunday of each month.
Gleniffer Brae Manor House is now a reception centre and home of the Wollongong Conservatorium of Music. The Botanic Gardens is a popular place for marriage ceremonies and wedding photos.
There are Australian and exotic plants, an education and visitors centre. Talks by gardeners are held on the first Wednesday of the month 10am - 12 noon.
