Austinmer is a beautiful northern beach with surf, large rock pool, large grassy area under pine trees for shade and picnics. It sits in the Northern Illawarra region, south of Stanwell Park and immediately north of Thirroul,Cafes close by and there is amenities and changing rooms.
The beach is patrolled and there is picnic facilities such as BBQ and tables, a car park, kiosk and public toilets.
Austinmer has a few beaches between headlands. It is about here that some protected cliffs are, due to their rock structure and age. Surfing is common here as is swimming. West of the beac on the highway are several cafe's and restaurants.
