Located at the edge of the Royal National Park, Stanwell Park and Stanwell Tops are well known for their beautiful coastal and cliff views, beaches, picnic areas and great surfing beaches.
Stanwell Park was possibly named after the village of Stanwell on the south side of London. It was also known by the Aboriginal name "Little Bulli". Bulli means "two mountains" and referred to those on each side of the village.
Bald Hill, Stanwell Park is a world-class hang gliding site with paragliding, tandem flights and instructors. Be blown away by some of the most spectacularly beautiful coastline on the east coast of Australia on a glider or flight.
On top of Bald Hill is a memorial to Lawrence Hargrave. The memorial is dedicated to his pioneering work in aeronautics, a lot of which he carried out in Stanwell Park. It is a beautiful lookout from which to admire the pristine coastline stretching out below.
The surrounding area offers some fantastic walks and natural attractions. Pack a picnic and make the pleasant walk to Kelly’s Falls. Check out the historical Aboriginal Carvings on the trees in Peace Garden, just a short walk from the Stanwell Park Train Station.
Visit the Symbio Wildlife Gardens to see native, exotic and farmyard animals in a serene garden environment. You are able to pet some of the animals and there are demonstrations daily.
