Cooks Hill is one of the most popular inner city suburbs of Newcastle. Adjacent to The Junction, there is fantastic dining, shopping and places to go out.

The suburb is best known for the ambience of Darby Street. Darby Street has around 25 restaurants and Cafes. Anyone can enjoy alfresco dining, bustling cafes and some great lively and friendly pubs.

Cooks Hill is also home to a range of art galleries including the Newcastle Region Art Gallery and Von Bertouch Gallery, the first commercial gallery outside a capital city in Australia.

The area is easily recognised by tree lined streets, rows of Victorian terrace houses, turn of the century timber cottages and corner pubs.
