Clarence Town is believed to have been the seventh oldest settlement in the country. It was the Hunter Valley’s centre for shipping until the railway came to Dungog in 1911. Clarence Town is located a short drive south of Dungog on the Clarence Town Road.
Today, there are many historic buildings that have withstood the test of time and provide an in depth insight into Australia’s pioneering past. However, the Williams River is the major draw card to Clarence Town. A heaven for water skiers, Clarence Town provides camping facilities right on the edge of the water.
