Dungog is the starting point for Telegherry Forest Drive - a scenic route through Chichester State Forest north of Dungog.

The round trip from Dungog takes about 3 hours and winds for 90km through Hardwood (Eucalypt), Forest which covers the headwaters of the Karuah River and its tributary, the Telegherry River, and is interspersed with areas of rainforest.

Points of interest: Jerusalem Creek Walking Trail and Jerusalem Creek National Park, Museum, Telegherry Forest Park, Dundungra Falls & Chichester Arboretum, Hardwood Plantation 1983, Negrohead Beach, Kanungra Lookout, Hardwood Plantation 1968, Frying Pan Forest Park, Species Trail, The Knob Lookout.
