Local Area
Beautiful North Avoca beach is just a few minute’s walk away. It’s a haven for families and keen surfers with golden sand and blue-green water. Adjoining this is Avoca Beach and the cute village of Avoca itself with its many cafes, quaint shops and a fabulous – and famous – heritage art deco movie theatre featuring movie memorabilia and coffee shop. Avoca is has a real enclave feel about it and it’s perfect for a balmy summer night out.
Things to do
Mount Penang Gardens at Kariong features over 6 hectares of features gardens, waterfalls and amazing garden features. There’s also the Australian Rainforest Santuary at Ourimbah where you can see wallabies and wallaroos in the natural habitats or famous Poet Henry Kendall’s Cottage and Museum.
A little further away, and north along The Entrance Road, is The Entrance where the children can feed pelicans from 3.30pm each afternoon and enjoy the children’s play areas and live entertainment on the boardwalk.
