Burrinjuck Dam and Village 

When it was first built Burrinjuck Dam was ranked as one of the world's greatest dams. The dam was completed in 1927 and supplied water to the Murrumbidgee Irrigation Area. Further work to the dam in 2001 made it able to handle the largest possible flood - one that would be expected to occur, on average, only once in 100,000 years.

Some amazing statistics about the dam include; the area of stored water is 5,600 hectares; the area of catchment is 12,900 square kilometres; and the shoreline is 645 kilometres.

These days the dam is considered to be a water sports playground and a fisherman's paradise. Fish present include the Murray Cod, Macquarie Perch, Golden Perch, Silver Perch, Rainbow Trout, Brown Trout, Atlantic Salmon, Redfin, Eel-Tailed Catfish and Carp. Stocked fish include Murray Cod, Golden Perch, Silver Perch, Rainbow Trout and Atlantic Salmon. Macquarie Perch are protected and must be returned to the water unharmed.

• Facilities include a picnic area, toilets and free electric BBQ's
• Lake Burrinjuck is open to all forms of boating and several boat ramps are provided around the lake
