Nestled between the Tidbinbilla and Gibraltar Ranges, Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve is a forty minute drive from the Canberra City centre along Tourist Drive 5. Visitors to Tidbinbilla will experience a valley rich in indigenous and natural heritage and discover many unique plants and animals.
Spot curious platypus in the enclosed wetlands, picnic with the emus and kangaroos grazing freely nearby, visit the koala enclosure and join the exciting program of ranger-guided kids activities during school holidays. Kids love the adventure playground, and the nature Discovery Sanctuary experience includes free-ranging koalas, echidnas and wallabies combined with stories about the relationships between environment, animals and people.
The Tidbinbilla Visitor Centre provides a great introduction to the reserve. The friendly staff will provide you with up-to-date information about Ranger guided walks and activities. Enjoy the hands on displays such as the interactive computer program on Tidbinbilla's bird species and look at the live animal displays. The gift shop sells an interesting range of clothes, toys, books, cards and souvenirs. Coffee and light refreshments are also available.

Tucked away in the mountains south west of Canberra, visit to Tidbinbilla Nature Reserve and encounter Australia's unique wildlife. Although much of Tidbinbilla was blackened during the fires in Jan 03, regeneration has begun. You can walk among kangaroos, wallabies, koalas, birds, emus and other wildlife in their own native habitat. Glimpse the past way of life of Aboriginal people or hear fascinating stories of our early European settlers.
