Originally part of the (now flooded) Royal Canberra Golf course, the Lennox Gardens are a well loved retreat in Yarralumla.
The construction of Lake Burley Griffin saw quantities of land (as well as the original Royal Canberra Golf Course) being sacrificed. The Lennox Gardens stand on the remaining part of the golf course that was not submerged.
The park has a number of memorials and monuments presented to Canberra by Japan, a monument to Australians in the Spanish civil war, a monument commemorating the Jewish National fund and a Wisteria pergola dedicated to the Nara - Canberra sister city relationship. Lennox Gardens also has the unusual feature of having a park within a park. The Canberra Nara Park also calls Lennox Gardens home.
