Canberra Nature Park is the bush land that gives Australia's Capital city it's other name- the bush capital! The park is 30 separate areas ranging from bushland hills to some of the best examples of lowland native grassland. The stunning views make the park a spectacular place for walking and discovering the diverse reserves, summits and wildlife within Canberra. An escape to nature! Flora and FaunaCanberra Nature Park contains some of the best examples of Yellow Box-Red Gum Grassy Woodland left in Australia. This type of woodland is an endangered ecological community. It is home to a number of rare or threatened species such as the Hooded Robin, Striped Legless Lizard and the Button Wrinklewort.

• For the wild flower enthusiasts and an interesting look at the most weirdly names flowers around, look out for the Chocolate lilies, common Fringe-Lily, Purple Donkey orchids, Creamy Candles, Native Buttercups, Scrambled Eggs, Paper daisy, Narrow-leaf Bitter-pea and Donkey orchids. Native creatures include the Spotted Grass Frog, Rufous Whistler and Grey Fantail.

Further Information

The abundant wildlife in the 'Bush Capital' sometimes results in animals becoming injured or trapped in suburban areas. Parks and Conservation Rangers are on call 24 hours a day to assist injured or trapped wildlife, and attend to venomous snakes and swooping birds.
