Reconciliation Place is primarily a prominent symbol of reconciliation between Australia’s Indigenous people and the Australian people. Located in the Parliamentary Triangle it was designed by architect Simon Kringas and links the High Court and National Library. Currently this public promenade displays 16 artworks, images and text on various themes of reconciliation. The number is intended to grow with the reconciliation process.
Reconciliation Place was officially opened on 22 July 2002 by then Prime Minister, the Hon John Howard.
