Extending a warm Outback welcome are the folk you'll meet along the way on the Kamilaroi Highway. Start or end your journey from Willow Tree, just south of Tamworth and head straight out to the back of Bourke. Along the way discover koalas, emus, country hospitality and iconic towns and settlements. Willow Tree, Quirindi, Gunnedah, Boggabri, Narrabri, Wee Waa, Walgett, Brewarrina and Bourke all feature on the itinerary.

The highway (also known by national route number 37) runs through the agricultural heartland of NSW. It's biggest claim to fame is that it offers the most direct route from the Great Divide to the Outback. Undo the windows and cruise past fields of wheat, sunflowers and canola. The rugged mountain ranges of the Nandewars and Mt Kaputar cast majestic shadows as the sun goes down.
