Overview

Manilla is an attractive park-like country town, which serves the widespread grazing and wheat growing industries of the surrounding districts. It is situated at the junction of the Naomi and Manilla rivers - a rich fishing location.

Often referred to as the 'adventurers paradise', you can jump off a mountain and paraglide, hang-glide or abseil back to earth or be pulled along by a boat skiing along the beautiful waterways.

Grassy Box Woodlands line much of the Fossickers way with Manilla providing some of the best examples of the threatened Grassy White Box and Yellow Box plant communities in North West NSW. These plant communities provide a home for many vulnerable fauna species, such as the Brown Tree Creeper, Diamond Firetail Finch, Turquoise Parrot, Squirrel Glider, Greater Long-eared Bat and the Border Thick Tailed Gecko.

The self drive bird routes of Manilla will guide you to these unique areas. Warrabah National Park has good bushwalking and quality grades for rock climbing.
